Opening statements were made in Livingston County Court5 this morning in Livonia resident Danielle Allen’s manslaughter trial. So far, the prosecution has called five witnesses, most of them members of law enforcement. Most of the testimony centered on the appearance of Allen’s apartment when officers responded the night of her boyfriend, Marcus Postell’s, death. Witnesses also talked about Allen’s behavior the night of Postell’s death. Officers were asked what they saw, where blood was located in Allen’s apartment and on her person and where Postell’s body was, also in Allen’s apartment. Allen’s 911 call to authorities was also played for the jury. The trial is set to resume at 1:30 p.m. today with more law enforcement witnesses expected to take the stand.
