A winter storm warning is in effect until 2 a.m. Thursday for Wyoming County. Heavy, wet and blowing snow is expected with the greatest amounts across higher terrain, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo. Total accumulations of 8 to 16 inches are expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute, NWS officials said. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow, while tree branches may fall. The warning also includes Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, and southern Erie counties.
